Wow.  This is the kind of scorn I guess we can expect from the WaPo should we be lucky enough to get good again.  This from their hometown paper!  GW or GMU could win the friggin national championship and Steinberg would probably write about how meaningless it is since the best players from real schools like Georgetown and Maryland leave early for the NBA these days...  Unbelievable!

I don't understand the criticism, AC.  I think Steinberg does a good job, and I read this  this article was more an indictment of the AP voters (who don't know much about a non-BCS team outside their geographic region) than as scorn for GMU. Not sure what your beef is.

Steinberg has always given us WAY more attention than anyone else in the media. He provided some great coverage the years when the team warranted great coverage. When going after the local media for bias and unfairness, he'd be the last person I'd attack.

Yup, Steinberg has been very friendly to the program and I seem to recall him posting here before too?

Yup. No slight intended. And I have no idea whether Mason should or should not be ranked, though the RPI certainly supports it. Just seems comical how much the rankings are geography-dependent. Some dude from NC has UNC ranked like No. 11.

I like Steinberg (is that the real guy?) always found him smart, thoughtful.
