I was there tonight..some thoughts-
- Tony took over tonight like no GW player has like Shawnta. In the 2nd half, URI knew what he was going to do, he killed clock and still scored. Unbelievable performance and he's not that far from passing Kevin Anderson from the 2nd best guard in the league.
- Be grateful for what you have. URI was so terribly coached it was laughable. ALl they did was come up, go one on one and shoot a contested shot. They have three of the better shooters in the conference and one of the most talented players in the conference and can't score because they have zero offensive game plan. Lot of URI fans wish they had a coach like HObbs fyi.
- Defense was terrific. Combo of Pellom and Smith really flustered James.Pressure forced a ton of turnovers. Great defensive game plan against this offense.
- I agree that we are lacking in depth at the 1 spot but we're not different from many other A10 teams. Xavier has no backup for HOlloway. Richmond has no backup for Anderson. And when URI put in their backup for JOnes who had foul trouble he was torched over and over again by TT.
- Great games from Bynes and Ware. Ware is a very cerebral player. Just gets it done on O and rebounds and defends. Bynes was shooting great tonight and did an ok job running the offense.
- Ugly game for BIg Joe. Missed a wide open dunk. Hopefully he can rebound from this for a big game Saturday. Still compared to Martel Joe looks like Hakeem Olajuwon.
- I feel bad for Delroy James. With a coach who runs a true offense this guy could be an all-american. All the talent in the world-
- How anybody can argue we're not set up well for next year is beyond me. There's no argument really.
