The SI story paints but one picture of an Assistant Coach. Sure, the recruiting road is long and grueling. But, the big test happens when the big shots arrive on campus. Keeping up with class schedules, tutors, grades, personal issues, ad infinitum. THAT is the unsung job of an Assistant Coach.
That said, coaching Catholic University or University of Vermont is a DAMM sight different than GW.
The level of recruit is elevated, and for better or worse, so are the ongoing issues. Generally speaking, that is.
Hopefully, ML will recognize that he is a bit out of his league on this paramount criterion.
I would also think that he would have a good understanding of the internatinal recruiting arena, which has greatly evolved in the past couple of years.
These are serious considerations for the long haul. Let's hope ML will see the forest for the trees.
