We really did land Vaughn!?!?!  How great is that!  I thought he was only on our wish list.  I'm sure he'll be excited to be back in the Smithy.  I'm liking what I'm hearing each day out of the new regime!

Rhody fans have been anxiously awaiting word on the hiring of their new assistant coach (Kevin Clark joined the staff of Pat Skerry at Towson.  Skerry is fellow former URI assistant).  There is a report on TWITTER that URI has hired a former NC State Assistant and GW has done the same.

 I would have guessed Jones was going to be DBO anyways. You rarely go from high school coach to assistant D1 coach without working your way up a little bit.

Makes sense on Jones...Strickland is a DeMatha guy and former head coach.  Not knowing anything else, looks like a pretty good hire if true.  Lonergan, Turner, Strickland, Sutton, Jones is a strong staff.

 Damn, I can still recall him from his Dematha days. He's Mike Brey, Lite. Just look at his resume. Overall, the coaching staff seems quantum leaps above what GWU has been used to.

 That Aussie player will be flying in to Dulles. Strickland ought to be there to pick him up, and drive him to the NC State Foggy Bottom campus for enrollment.

Sorry for ressurrecting this thread from beyond the grave, but I saw this NC State forum post about new asst. coach Pete Strickland.
