What a great gesture by the men's team to help incoming freshmen move in.  We've had countless numbers of discussions here on what it would take to get more students to attend games more regularly.  Allowing students to interact with the team in an informal way like this should only help the cause.  I sincerely hope that this is not a wasted effort.

This is a great job by the GW mens basketball program, and I hope more of the team comes out to support this effort. 

These kinds of efforts should go a long way.  As a student during the Pops/Mike/Omar/JR, etc. era, I always felt that those students were connected to the student body.  It will be nice if that can return.

No question that one of the keys to the student love affair with the Pops/Hall/Omar team seemed to be the connection with the players as regular students and classmates. This is the kind of effort that makes that connection with the incoming students. But unless the reporting or my reading of it is off-base, it seems that most of the volunteers from the team were the coaches and administrative people rather than the players themselves. Then again, Hobbs was initially beloved and wildly cheered by the student body when he would enter the court and go to the bench. Nothing wrong with the school community raucously supporting its head coach as a strong starting point for renewed belief in the team. Got to love the full court blitz that ML is showing to raise the profile of the men's team. And that undoubtedly is where AD Nero wants the bar set for all his other coaches and teams.
