After working in admissions and now as a college counselor, I wonder what GWU would look like without students reporting race/ethnicity?  I wonder what national college diversity would like like?  How would this change race relations nationally?  Not looking for answers, but questions I suddenly find myself asking.

The more interesting question is - when will people clue in to the fact that the biggest affirmative action program is allowing boys into colleges when there are plenty of girls with better grades and scores?

"Since 1991, the proportion of young women enrolled in college has exceeded the enrollment rate for young men, and the gap has widened over time.1 In 2005, about 43 percent of women ages 18 to 24 were enrolled in college, compared with 35 percent of young men. This represents a major shift in the gender balance at U.S. colleges and universities. Between 1970 and 2005, the gender composition has shifted to the extent that women now make up the majority—54 percent—of the 10.8 million young adults enrolled in college."

That's exactly right Herve AND schools still have to admit boys with worse scores to keep the split at only 54-46.  Many schools have a wider gap than that and it would be even greater if admissions were gender neutral.

Most certainly would.  I wonder what colleg ewould like like if decisions were race and gender blind. 

All the top schools would be 90% female? 

Some schools that are less prestigious would be mostly men?

What effect would that have on dating, socialization, networking, etc?

How do international studens fair?  What is we stop looking at location, would we be giving up many of the top spots in American colleges to international students? 

Sorry, this is fascinating me a bit and I wonder where it leads in the long run.  I cold do this all day.
