I was thinking the same thing Mentz, with a name like Brutus, it is scary just having him on the roster. Now, if he was a 7' we would have to sell a few kids to get him. Maybe he will grow?

does not look 6'5" to me but who knows.  Looks very strong.  I agree with ESPN - a tight end prospect.

One of my AAU friends has seen him play and said he was "a grown ass man" and would definitely be able to compete in the A-10.

He was at the GW v. Duquense game today with his family.

Lots of video here.  Looks more like a utility guy (3/4/5) with a good deal of power.  The kind of guy who may not start every game, but will be indispencible in certain matchups.

He's #15 and BTW COnban Collins (#1) is also on our radar.

Recruiting update: Brutus was on Drake's campus officially last week. He's also being pursued by a handful of Atlantic 10 programs, including Charlotte, George Washington and St. Bonaventure. He saw Charlotte officially in the fall and recently took an unofficial visit to George Washington, but no one has pursued him heavier than St. Bonaventure at this point. Chances are Brutus will pick from one of his mid-major suitors but DePaul and Georgia are the wild cards after coming in to see him in recent weeks and reportedly being intrigued by his upside.

NYCHoops says he has over 20 offers and will be visiting Ole Miss and UAB with Kent State and Iona in the loop.

NYCHoops.net says he's down to Ole Miss, Illinois and Kent State.  Either his visit here didn't go well or we cooled on him (perhaps we found someone else??)

It may be that given our scholarship situation we cooled on him.  ML has said that earlier in the season he thought that Pellom would be gone this Summer.  Maybe Brutus' recruitment was partly as a backup if Pellom left.  And with Pellom staying who's roster spot would we have to free up to give to Brutus (or Carrera for that matter)?
