I find "choke" to be one of the most overused words in sports. Just because you lose as the #1 seed doesn't mean you choked -- maybe you just got beat, maybe one of your players missed a FT with the game on the line (that would be them choking, not the coach), maybe you overachieved to get the #1 seed, maybe you just didn't win because statistically you would only win 52% of the time and that day happened to be one of the 48%.
Personally, I think a choke is when you have the inability to perform because of the pressure of the moment, and that is not always the same thing as losing a big game.
That said, I could see Pikiell having to go to a slightly better league before the A-10 level -- like proving himself at the CAA. Unlike Lonergan, this is his first head coaching job and he wasn't an assistant at a BCS league.
