Just an FYI, half the future recruiting "offers" reported here and elsewhere are not offers. There is a big difference between interest and an offer. I have checked with schools on some of the info referenced here and found it was not correct. Be careful believing what you read!!!!! There are all kinds of AAU guys claiming their kids have offers from schools to drive up the bidding from other schools because you have a follow the pack mentality in recruiting. Sometimes the kids themselves don't know the difference between interest and an offer and I can tell you that many a college coach has been surprised to learn that he extended an offer where one was not extended. We are getting into the silly season for college basketball. This would make a great episode for Penn & Teller.

 He's right. The one 2013 player that GW has offered is Kurt Steidl.

If Kurt Steidl plays for GW, those of you who do not know who I am will soon find out.  I will be standing up at games and booing him for 4 years.

MV, Kurt Steidl was one of eight players named to CT all-state basketball team as a Jr.  you seem to have a Kurt Steidl obsession having posted 10 times on Ziik's thread one you didn't care about.  that seems like odd behavior to me.  i'll bet you he gets a scholarship to play college basketball somewhere.

ELJ, I would think it would be a bit weirder to stand up and boo each time a player on a team I supported were to do something.  But I do agree with the sentiment that even things that are obvious in one's mind can never be taken for granted on this board.

Levinator, sorry to say but I'm not backtracking in the slightest.  Anyone who truly thinks I would openly disparage one of GW's own players doesn't know me very well. (And on an anonymous message board, I suppose I couldn't have expected anything differently.)

On a separate note, Lonergan told Steidl that if he comes to GW he will will have an exemption from league and NCAA sportsmanship requirements to flip the bird at MV everytime he scores. If he flips the bird 7 times in one game, GW will have a Subway promotion for the fans. :-)

CBO, as much as I would like to see this (I'm all for scoring), maybe GW should, you know, send the young man a letter to let him know that there's potential interest on the school's part.  Like he's actually being recruited by GW, that sort of thing.

MV, I don't know whether GW is recruiting the young man or not and I don't really care. The question is why do you?
