Terrell Stoglin suspended for a year at MD ... in the news a day or two ago was that their other good ball handler Pe'shon H. was given a citation at an incident where he was getting in the way of police or security persons breaking up a scuffle and/or argument at a local College Park hangout.

I tell fans of CPCC that our schools are moving in different directions in Basketball, but they don't believe me.

 I suspect there will be more empty seats at College Park CC's gym this upcoming season than at the Smith Center.

Mark Turgeon is an excellent coach who will have them in the Sweet 16 in the next 3-4 years ... much like GW.

I agree, Mentz.  The only question is whether Delonte Hill lands them on probation first (though he never got caught doing anything wrong at Kansas St., so maybe he knows what he's doing).

Maryland has problems but I think it's more about the AD and the M Club. Turgeon has a strong class coming in and worked miracles with an empty cupboard last year. No less expectations for the coming years in College Park. Biggest problem with that is GW being crowded out of  the news media and TV coverage during tourney time. Would be a great time to finally get all the local schools together at whatever large venue can be arranged.

Why did Maryland let the media know that Terrell Stoglin and Mychal Parker failed drug tests and would be suspended for a year after they had already "left"? Most times the university will just announce that they have dismissed the player or that the player has decided to leave. That scenario allows the player to leave with some dignity, even if he doesn't deserve it. Maryland could be in for one of their worst seasons in many years next year without T.Stoglin.

 Police said the man, possibly a student at the University of Maryland, reported the theft of his marijuana during a robbery by three armed masked men who also stole cash, laptops, cell phones and a Honda CR-V from a home he shared with four others.
