There's a childish dance regarding metro-area colleges playing each other I really wish would cease. Making this a true tournament (in which we inevitably beat CPCC in the finals) would be a start.

 This sounds like a good first day. The Navy-Mason third-place game the next day could be a doozy.

Yes, there is some location television and exposure, but in reality, there is only one benefit to playing in the BBT (if you can get past that children's charity thing), that being the opportunity to play a major opponant here in DC that we would have not otherwise been able to get to play at the Smith Center.  Playing schools such as Texas, Michigan, Maryland, etc.  was great, however playing the likes of  Manhattan or Navy in front of 18,000 empty seats at the Verizon Center really doesn't do that much for me.

LSF, those wins over Michigan state and Maryland were costly ones.

 Hey I know the Jasper's have little sex or RPI appeal, but beating any team and doing it well would be a nice step when the last several years have made me wonder why I didn't have lunch at Rosa Mexicano and go home to the embrace of the NFL

Verizon Center game offers us the rare opportunity to play the team with that sex and RPI appeal in DC.  Hate to see it wasted on the likes of Manhattan. 

 Amen LSF, no reason we couldn't get Manhattan to Smith if we really wanted them. Hoping this isn't true.

 Manhattan would be a truly awful BB and T game for multiple reasons. I can guarantee that none of my friends will travel to the Verizon Center to watch that, they'd be lucky to draw 2500. It doesn't make sense to talk about upgrading the schedule then blow an opportunity like a tournament at the Verizon Center to play a team like Manhattan. At the very least get a  team like Villanova who ha alumni in the area and would probably agree. NOt to mention the fact that Manhattan isn't a bad team and we could very well lose compounding the calamity of the decision to play them in the first place.
