GW wins 93-67 over Dinamaca Generale Mirandola.     No scoring totals yet. 

For LSF, I think they just visited the Siena team's gym when they were in Siena, but then they went to Poggio Rusco to play Mirandola today.    As BM said, it's a team just promoted to Nazionale A league, which is the italian equivalent of AA ball.   Given that the win was on the road, this will be good for our RPI.

Box score more detailed for this.  Minutes seem to be spread out too, with all 12 guys playing double digit minutes. 

Looks like we outrebounded them 41-26 (led by Armwood with 6).  I think we had just 11 assists on 35 baskets if I'm reading it right, led by McDonald with 4 (but who knows how they calculate assists there, or if I'm even reading the right column).  After game 2's hot shooting, we shot just 3-11 today from deep (game was played with international rules, so deeper three point line).

Actually, GW's game writeup says McDonald stuffed the statsheet with 13 points, 6 boards, 5 steals, 4 assists. 

Also says our next game is against Fortitudo Bologna, a higher level team than the one we played today.

Sorry for multiple posts, but more research shows that the team we are playing next includes DJ Strawberry (former Maryland player, Darryl's son) and Keiran Achara (Duquesne big man who Pops jumped over on a dunk; now Pops' teammate on the British national team)

The good news is that we have a deep team. We are excited about scoring by a specific player if he scores over 10 points, then seem to freak out when he doesn't ... on a deep team. This is normal. This is what a deep team looks like. Again, I am happy. The question comes when you look at the better competition and how far each of our players can go against better competition.  

I also will suggest that we probably aren't pushing that much aggressive D yet, but that's the game winner, IMHO. 

What I really like is that Armwood is getting his scoring going. I don't know how. I also like the fact that Larsen and Paris are getting points. This is all an upgrade from GW 2011/12. I want to see if the bigs can be more effective on D. I thought that last year, our focus was on blocks and not solid D. I hope that our added bulk will have an affect. 

Who freaked out about someone not scoring in double figures? 

 I think 4 of the top 5 scorers in the last couple of games have been from players new to the team.  The team is going to look a lot different this year.  This is one of our biggest transition years in a long time.
