Appears no one made mention of the fact we offered 2016 PF A.J. Brodeur who is 6' 8" and plays at Northfield Mount Hermon.

Has offers from B.C. and St. Joe's among others, but appears that we have at least a fighter's chance at adding this "stretch 4" to the future roster.

We are turning into "Stretch 4 U" right before our eyes.

I'm in the market for a new Brodeur now that Marty's Devils career is done so this seems promising to me

Rival$ article:

Brodeur says that he has offers from George Washington, UMass, Davidson and Ivy League programs like Harvard, Yale, Brown, Princeton and Columbia. Others that have shown early interest includeWisconsin and Xavier.

Are Skyler and Fitzgerald the only two to come out of NMH?

By: BM (5,673 posts) - 11/25/2014 1:25:01 PM

AFAIK, those two guys are it.  We've recruited a couple more unsuccessfully, notable Josh Hearlihy who is busy keeping the bench toasty at Tulane.

Well we didn't go after Josh Sharma at NMH

He said on that radio interview that he was going to a prep tourney in New England.  I assume he is watching multiple guys there.

Video.  Looks strong for his age.

As always, BM is right.

Not a Kevin-like body, but certainly more muscle than we usually see in a high school recruit.

Also certainly more ups than Kevin--and a really nice shooting touch in this video clip.

Penn.  That's a huge surprise.

BM - Not really if you saw AJ play. IMHO straight Ivy/Patriot all the way. GW can and must do better.

By: GWStag (84 posts) - 7/6/2015 7:01:29 PM

AJ is a steal for Penn.  He had offers from BC, Providence, URI, Harvard, GW and serious interest from ND and other high majors.  Much better than sn Ivy/Patriot recruit MoCo observer.   He knew Donahue from when he was recruiting him while at BC.

thanks for the inside word MOCO. I don't feel so bad now.

Hopefully, unlike SirValiant, we have a Plan B.

GW Stag - In fairness, I do know there were widely divergent views on Brodeur and yes, he had offers from GW and others like you mentioned. However, based on the 2 times I saw him play, I saw an Ivy/Patriot player and I know that some other programs viewed him the same. To me he was an high IQ guy with the ability to shoot mid-range who seemed to work hard but what would scare me was his lack of athleticism that would be needed to match up defensively in the post. So I guess when I said straight Ivy/Patriot, I meant his skill set would show best in those leagues given he is a solid academic kid from all accounts. So he absolutely can be a steal for Penn. However, I'm just not sure that he would have been a great get for GW or some of the other mid-major/high major teams you listed. But hey I've been wrong before - plenty of times. It always comes out in the wash.

Moco, I'm sold, agree with Mike K, softens the blow to read your analysis.

Rival$ George Washington has been calling a lot, Roland admitted. They haven't offered yet, but I'm going down there for a visit on the weekend of June 28th. I also have St. Bonaventure and Albany reaching out a lot too. Article/video Google
