UConn's Curtis Kelly to transfer to another school

STORRS, Conn. (AP) _ The University of Connecticut says sophomore forward Curtis Kelly will transfer to another school in an effort to get more playing time.

UConn says Kelly is speaking to other schools and has not decided yet where he will go.

Coach Jim Calhoun says he has met with Kelly over the past several weeks and they both agree that he may have a better chance for more playing time in another program.

Kelly says he has enjoyed the last two years at UConn and will miss his teammates, but he wants to get more out of his college eperience and needs to do what will make him happy.

The 6-foot-9, 234-pound Bron native appeared in 51 games in his two years with the Huskies. He averaged 2.4 points and 2.2 rebounds a game. He dislocated his left elbow against Villanova Feb. 23 and missed the final si games of this past season.
