I am quite sure it's easy to miss Choate, the Hill School, Andover, Hotchkiss, Groton, Lawrenceville, Eeter, Peddie when you are on the recruiting trail.

DEA, in a way-out-there prediction, I would say that Justin Hilton also could be a great get off that team. Mom and dad were college players and he is very smart and aware. I'm guessing that he is about 6 foot 3 now and probably growing.

According to Ron Bailey at i95ballerz, we are still in the picture with Lewis for 2012 (post TT).

Also I'm not sure if this has been mentioned in this thread, but GW, Boston College, VCU and Penn have offered so far, according to Ron Bailey.

To back notta hater's point, Daryl Webster's son Christian (from Landon and leading scorer for 2 years in a row in DC at almost 30 ppg) is now in his second year at Harvard.   

Ian Hummer, from Gonzage, All-Met 2009 and now at Princeton.  When I talked to his dad whom I have known for many years about Ian looking at GW he said "no way".

We aren't always going to be a fit for these players.

Not necessarily.  2 cases of kids from elite local prep schools that have bypassed GW.  Tell me specifically why you know any better.

I like when we get kids from the DC area.  Gives us a good pipeline.

Rimhigh, did Ian Hummer's dad say why Ian said "No Way" to GW?? Did it have anything to do with how GW recruited him or did he just have no interest??

a JR. and already has offers from Penn, Princeton, Harvard and Yale with "interest" from Notre Dame, Stanford . . . what the heck am I missing?  I am a GW alum and love my school.  However, if he ever asked me, I would say take Penn, Princeton, Harvard, Yale or Stanford and never look back, son.

 Never underestimate some kids wanting to play in front of their family...plus kids look at basketball schools differently than we would do regular schools..Prime example being Wally Sczerbiak passing up Harvard for Miami of Ohio

I go to school with this kid and the buzz I've heard is that he really likes GW. He is smart enough to play at an ivy, and he's committed to his education, but I'm not sure he wants to go that route.

And he used to get that joke a lot but now he's made enough of a name for himself that he doesn't.

Based on his journal entry at i95ballerz, he seems like a stellar student and human being.  He's in the process of sitting AP Chemistry and Environmental Science exams and just wrapped up a week of volunteering in the New Orleans area.

Not that big of a swing and miss - he is not an A-10 caliber player. That's why he is going to Penn among other reasons.

It sounds like a good fit.  A team that usually vies for the league crown with Princeton, and now Harvard and maybe Cornell, good city (in that you can get out of it quickly to go to NYC or DC and do not have to ever plan for a Super Bowl party), and a darn good school to match a darn good high school.  Good luck!

Here's betting that Strickland, Sutton, Turner and Lonergan will bring in someone better at PG than Jamal Lewis.

Maybe we can steal a recruit from University of New Hampshire or University of Maine. Why take top 100 centers when you can just do that!

It really does feel much better to be the board optimist than the board pessimist.  I feel sorry for "student" as he/she may have to conclude their time at GW bitter and resentful.
