11 warriors brave and strong!! I'm off to the banks of the Olentangy River to watch the men of the Scarlet and Gray and the best damn band in the land (of which my father will be marching with as an alumni band member). This is one of the year's highlights for me and I would argue one of the great entertainment events anyone could be part of live. I've talked to people who have seen games in Lincoln, Pullman, Tuscaloosa, Auburn, South Carolina, Clemson, etc. and they all agree that it was all amateur hour when compared to a gameday in Columbus. It's something you have to eperience just once even if you do not care about OSU or college football.

Herve - Enjoy the trip Herve. I had the pleasure in the fall of '69 to see a game at Columbus. 60-something blow-out of Wisconsin. Still have my scarlet and grey seat cushion. Use it whenever the roids act up. Reminds me of Ohio. The Buckeyes team physician, Dr. Lombardo (Brooklyn guy), was year behind me at Dayton. Maybe two years behind me. While not on the same scale of pageantry and skill, a Saturday afternoon at West Point in the fall is something to behold . . . that is, if you don't mind seeing the Cadets get bludgeoned. Good for your dad. That must be a thrill.

I'm on my way to columbus as well--to party! (not with OSU, athough a few friends are riding with me to tailgate). I'll be in the school's neighborhood...Herve--if you see someone with a GW hat staggering down the street...

Herve, just to let you know I am not all beauty and brains....

My old debate coach from Colgate became Novice Fawcett's VP for Univ Development. And I was present in the Prey bo with him when they were hosting and honoring the alum who gave the moola for the artificial turf in the stadium. It was sometime in the 70s - but alas! it does not have the same lasting impression on me as say ... a KY bball game at Rupp!

Sorry Herve, but I think pregame before a Tennessee Volunteers game, especially with the floating armada, is the ultimate college football eperience.

Come on dirty south! UT couldn't even sell-out their home-opener this year! That would never happen in Columbus! And for your information, Script Ohio was voted the number one tradition in college football by ESPN when they celebrated the millenium.

What's Script Ohio? is that the song? As for tradition, I like Air Force Academy games where there's always a flyover of some huge plane that sets off all the car alarms in the parking lot. It's pretty funny stuff, you can hear them up in the stadium. And the cadets do pushups every time AF scores, which i guess is common to the other service academies. Although that means Army and Navy cadets have a lot less upper body strength at the end of the season than the Air Force kids. Ho!

I don't hold ESPN in high regard on their pronouncements of things. About UT not selling out- I don't blame them after the choke dawg act Fulmer pulled off last year, plus playing Fresno State, which is definitely not considered a glamour school.
