Bigfan: My wife and I had the same -- or an even worse -- eperience back in 1995. Went to what was billed as a 40th anniversary reunion, only to find it was (you should pardon the epression) a gangbang reunion for every five-year group from 50th down to the fifth year kids. There were separate mini-receptions for each group, and even though I'd been pretty active on campus back in the day, I saw eactly four people I'd known back then.
Only saving grace was that then-Colonials coach Mike Jarvis talked with us about the upcoming season, and mentioned that he'd signed "a tiny kid who'll knock your socks off, even at 5'3". First time I'd heard of Nut.
The Alumni Office actually did bust their collective tail promoting our reunion. I suspect the problem has a lot to do with our concrete-campus status. Never easy to engender the hallowed halls of ivy spirit at an in-town school.
