Fully agree with BC's comment about athleticism; these guys love to run all-out, and seemed able to sustain it for just about the entire practice/scrimmage. From where I sat, Lafonte Johnson looked surprisingly polished when going against TJ. We may make the three-guard option work sooner rather than later.
As for the injuries, supposedly both minor, Tamal's is in his groin (that never sounds minor to me, but we'll see), while Pinnock's is a bruised hip. Colluci was ill.
The players were spread out among the dinner tables, and my table (and BC's) had Elliott. Seems like a nice, quiet sort of guy off-court. The team's academic assistant also sat with us; she has an impressive program outlined for all the freshmen.
Another interesting point: in his player-by-player introductory comments, coach said he'd like to have Colluci back as an assistant coach some day. Also noted that Chris Monroe needs a couple of courses to get his degree, and "we're working to get him back here to do that."
As a quasi-vegetarian -- thanks to Mrs. ELJ -- I loved the dinner.
