1) Tim just posted what she said? I doubt she'd deny it. Unless she told him it was off the record, I don't think he did anything wrong. However, I think what she said is sad.
2) As one of the fans who has sat in those blue seats for the last 1 years, I think these complaints are ridulous. The things that are yelled are mild compared to other schools. Vulgar language is rare. 90% of what myself and other fans around me yell is positive, but we do occasionally ride the refs. The only reason Kathy Orton, Golf Coach or others even notice is because there are so few fans in attendance -- in a larger arena like MD's, I don't think they the voices would stand out like that or be noticed.
As for whether these criticisms will mute me, the answer in a decided no. Last year was my first year sitting down there and I know for certain that I got us about 3 calls. There were times when a specific opponent was doing something (moving screen, pushing off, etc.) and after riding the refs for a couple of plays and then during a dead ball they suddenly called it (and each time I'm thinking of it was the ref who was standing near me when I was yelling about it who made the call).
Don't believe me if you want. Call it my own ego if you want. But I know I've gotten a couple of calls for us and I won't stop, nor should BC or others who want to heckle refs when they think the refs have made a bad call.
