In defense of the press, no one can say we would have done better against St. Joe's or Teas had we not pressed as much. They could have easily cut down their turnovers and still gotten open shots while reducing the number of easy baskets we got.
I only heard the Fairfield and Appy games and not the ODU game so I can't say how much we pressed or whether it hurt us in those games. From what I heard our defense wasn't the problem against Fairfield -- it was turnovers and easy baskets.
Bottom line is that I'm not so sure I agree with the statement that we could have more wins if we junked the press. I just don't know one way or the other.
