I'm posting the number at 2.  This is not for verbal agreements because we all know what can happen to those.  This is for players who sign letters of intent with GW during the early signing period in November.  Anthony Swan is a very strong verbal meaning it appears he will be an early signed commit.  If you think that's all we'll sign (or 1 other player but not Swan, or zero players), pick the UNDER.  If you foresee three or more November signings (we will be replacing Armwood, Mikic and Creek, plus I believe there's a 4th open spot), take the OVER.  If you think it will be 2 on the nose, select the PUSH.  I'll cast the first vote for the PUSH.  I believe Lonergan would love to go OVER on this (and will feverishly try for the OVER) but it's ultimately up to the players.

It would be fun to add a dynamic to this where we name who those players will be.

1) Anthony Swan
2) Tyler Nelson (Just a hunch)

We have a lot of offers out to PGs (Cartwright, Jorgensen, Hawkins, Zabo) and PF/Cs (Fouland, Luther, Mayimba, Geben) and Bonzie Colson also seems to be a priority (undersized PF or SF without an outside shot).  We have offered some tall wings (Bridges, Cohen, Robinson), but that was all before Swan committed.

I'd say three (over) with one scholarship held for a priority player (Geben? Colson? Zabo?)

MV, unless we fill a scholarship with a late arrival this year or give a scholarship to a recruited walk-on like White, then we currently have an open spot (to go with Armwood, Creek, MIkic).

Maybe we should have a over/under on MV looking to fill internet time. This is what passes for discourse here ... the over/under on recruits when we know the number of spots available? What a slow offseason this must be...either that or MV has nothing to do. YAWN!!!!!!!!!

 On FQ's point, we sould remember the trip to Europe. I would doubt that we would hear a damned thing until Rice Hall gets clearance. Fueled by total speculation on my part.

Apparently, this was a bit too complex for Diamond Point to comprehend.  The question was how many will sign during the EARLY signing period, which has no bearing on the total number of spots available (other than you couldn't sign more guys than you have spots for.)  Always fun when someone attempts to insult me but makes themselves look like a fool in the process.

Tuna, I didn't think so.  This past year, we received one early commit in writing, along with a verbal commit who ML and staff invested quite a bit of time with only to watch him walk away.  After that experience, I suspect that if it were up to the coaching staff, they'd sign everyone in November.  But as we know, it's not that easy.  There are a few variables in play.  Will the coaches apply more pressure to get things done early?  Will they be willing to wait for a guy they like if he just doesn't want to sign early?    My guess to both of these questions is probably.  That said, the player is the one who ultimately decides.  So to speculate on the number of early signings doesn't strike me as weird, just something to theorize on an off-season June day.

I thought the question was fair and interesting.

Maybe BM and/or some of the other guys with inside info can rate on a scale 1 to 10 our chances, in their opinion, of landing our top 2014 targets.

I guess I read it a little differently Tuna.  I thought his point was to take an unprovoked shot at me or to make it less personal, my post.  Sorry if I came across as thin-skinned but I like to think I've earned that right by now.

 MV-- just think that you don't have to respond to every "sitting in mommy's basement in his underwear" post. btw I hate to count ckickens but I find it really ironic that we might actually end up with a top 40 class (minus the big school bs and player ranking changes) if we were to add Jorgensen and Foulland having already gotten the Swan commit
