Would someone who attends post about how this goes?   (and by that I mean the catering spread).

Any regular posters going on the Italy trip?

I am seriously more likely to fly from Washington to Italy (I reallly like Italy ) than I am to go to arriverderci.

What a lovely thought: go to the Embassy of Italy, which probably and hopefully is donating all the catering and wish everyone well for only $50. Or maybe 35 Euros.

Would rather have Dom's favorite Tesoro's or whatever it was--and a reasonable price for an event that the university is getting free. If somehow they have to pay the embassy, then someone who knows how Washington works and embassies operate needs to arrange this.

Asked someone in my bloc of season tickets if he was going and he said, once he saw the $50 on the invitation, said no way. Understand the need to raise funds. Also understand the need to show some loyalty to regular, loyal season ticketholders who are there year after year.

So if the sports administration is reading this and it was posted at its behest, might want to heed the message that you are trying to gouge your very small permament fan base.

Perhaps others disagree and the RSVP rate is high. One doubts it, though.

As one who has been to a handful of Bar related embassy receiptions, I don't think the $50.00 rate is too high.  In fact, I think it is right in line with what I ususally pay, if not a bit less expensive.  Add (or assume) to the fact that this may include a donation to the program, then I don't think the $50.00 is unreasonable or any type of insult to the fan base.  Hard to go out for a decent meal anywhere in DC for less than that.  Of course, everything is relative, and if $50.00 puts a bite into your budget, then that is a different story.

Well if LSF isn't suffering about this, it does cause rethinking.

Doesn't put a bite in my budget, though something to think about with other fans, especially younger. But it's really a bite in the butt to charge that for what likely is a reception provided free by the host embassy.
