So are there three scholarships left to give out?  That's my understanding.  Is that correct.  I believe each basketball team gets 13 scholarships.

Mikic, Kopriva, Armwood, Paris, McDonald, Savage, Pato, Larsen, Griffin, Cartagena, (scholarship 11, 12, & 13).

Any idea on if all will be used on high school kids or if there will be one or more transfers.  Hopefully they can land a talent like Armwood, even if the guy has to sit out a season.

Hopefully, Armwood shaves, gains 45 pounds, and comes back in 2014-2015 as a new freshman, Denzel Thurmond, a former Navy Seal who has 4 years' eligibility.

Of corse there is the persistent rumor of still another defection (Mikic has been discussed), which would give us 4 outstanding scholarships to fill.  Of course at this late date, I am not optimistic that we can land 3-4 quality players to add to the team, even though if we wen through next season with an 11 man roster and banked the remaining 2, that would be fine. In effect, that is what happened this year, with Pellom injured and Davis never getting off the bench.

Not sure if the staff is lobbying either of Kromah or Pellom to stay.  I certainly seemed like ML was counting on Kromah coming back.

LSF, I think Mikic's 3pt shot defected in October, and what we saw this past year was its ghost. Mikic and Burns were empty shells out there most of the year, effectively gutting the bench and our once heralded depth.

I dislike being negative on guys who are likely giving their best efforts, but I think Mikic is well past the fish or cut bait point, esp. if he can graduate and move on with his life. Yeah, I'd likely be beggng Kromah and Pellom to stay, but not if it hurt other players or team cohesion.

I'd also bar Thinker and his sources from the locker room, along with mindless chatter about the flex and team disfunction. This stuff has become its own cancer, with mindnumbing speculation on who catches it next.

Pellom has already picked another school.

I wouldn't be surprised if White receives a scholarship.  He committed when we didn't have any available and may have been promised one once the ineveitable defections happened.  Just a thought...
