GREAT time at the Barclays Center tonight. Phenomenal turnout by the fans the free food and booze didn't hurt either. Lonergan spoke about an hour before the game, couldn't quite catch everything he was saying but all in all a great event.

Yes. I went to the pre-game event.  That was good looking group of Colonials gathered there.

Great turnout.

Overall, a very fun experience.

I didn't go to the event but it was great to see so many students and alumni. We outnumbered UMASS, St Joes, and X combined.

Agree, and I think it affected the team's play, in a good way.

The "Chaz-Williams-just-farted-and-I-love-him-for-it" announcers remarked many times about the noise of the GW student section during the game....I mean when they weren't reminding me that Chaz Williams was from Brooklyn and possibly the greatest basketball player of all-time because he can remove tape from his wrist.

I could not agree more, Herve.

Also we they mentioned he was from Brooklyn and that's why he may have almost punched Lasan when he was on the ground fighting for the ball...

Echo sentiments on the event..it was a great idea well executed.

The Barclay's Center overall is a nice venue and I look forward to spending more time there in future springs.

Chaz is a great collegiate player but it was a little ridiculous last night on the broadcast.  I think the announcers didn't know much about the teams and we just working with the few stats and player summaries they were given.  Also as far as Brooklyn guards go Carl Elliott >>> Chaz Williams

Anyone else notice they showed Strickland as if he was Lonergan just before tip off.  I feel like this isn't the first time that's happened on an oblivious TV broadcast.

The pregame festivities were awesome. I can't praise the almuni association enough. I was shocked to see how many alumni turned out, and even with the loss, not a single one left the building disappointed with the atmosphere. The Umass student section was empty and ours was packed. Thank you alumni association for making the game a great time.

Fantastic showing by the students and alumni - I couldn't be more proud.  I've been away from campus for a while, and I had heard a lull in support by the students.  However, from the tip, they were into the game, loud, standing, doing chants - just impressive.

I was holding out hope that the confluence of events - Spring Break, tournament in NYC, a huge student population from the NY/NJ area - would lead to a decent turnout, but you never know.

Real proud of the school, the students, the alumni, everyone....excluding perhaps Randy Levine, who was 5 rows in front of me, and I wanted to get answers about the state of the 2013 Yankees.  I am not pleased.  He didn't do the fight song, which only enraged me further.  But I digress...

Fun atmosphere, wish we would have made it to tonight.  Onto next year.

as the defeated gw team walked down the runway to the lockerroom, the fans stood and cheered.  a very touching moment.  if you were at the game it was clear that the team and coach left everything on the court .  this is something you cannot recruit. the other things will be fixed. we are so close to being a winner.

Proud of GW

GWAA and the Athletic Dept. did an amazing job - the tailgate party had over 600 alums!  Our cheering section was great too - I met many older and yournger Colonials.  Better times ahead for sure.

Wow, hopefully the A-10 tourny stays at Barclay's for a while.  It seems good for GW.  Is the old Big East, or America 12, or whatever they are called, going to try to bump the A-10 out?  Let's hope not.

No.  Big East is staying in MSG, and I suspect the new league moves to a smaller city where there is no competition for the entertainment dollar. I think I heard Hartford as a possibility.

A-10 signed a 5 year deal with Barclays so it'll be there at least through 2017
