Been great rolling with GW Hoops for the past 15 years. Plus, i love the information exchange on this site, but with the changes, and the delivery of said changes, my time at the Smitty is done... Should be interesting to see if Lonergan is the second coming...Best of luck

Don't understand your logic, Logic.  After 4 years of no Atlantic City (and 2 years of not even making the A-10 tournament), don't you think it was time for a change?  Even if you were not in favor of the change at this time, you can certainly understand the administration's thinking.  As for Lonergan, he was a highly regarded (and in demand) coach with local ties.  Again, even if you were in the Hobbs, Dooley or some other camp, is hiring Lonergan so outrageous as to drive away a true fan?  If you want to bitch about the timing of the firing, I will give you that, but perhaps you should have the full facts before bailing.

LSF,

It would seem that Logic is saying that he lost his job.  People don't immediately get that a change at the top generally involves lots of other people who were doing a perfectly fine job getting displaced as well.  If so, best of luck to you wherever you land - Logic!

Logic,

I hope you aren't my friend and old NROTC buddy.  If so, you'll recognize my initials, and let's reconnect.

LSF, based on my convo's with people close to both sides, and Big Shots post about what happened (which feels valid), just time to move on. Both POVs on the firing (or keeping) the coach appear to be valid. The timing of it upsets me, the presentation (and believability)  of the 'official story' upset me.  in the end, KH left the team (and Smitty) in a better position than he inherited them..and honestly, none of the new guard (Knapp, Nero, Lonergan) resonate with me...Not bitchin' at all, have just chosen not to invest.

JP, that ain't me

is there anything sadder than a Goodbye Cruel World post on an Internet message board?

For every one "Logic" departing GWworld because of the coaching change 3 previously long-time fans who've drifted away from the program will likely come back, especially if GW can start winning again more consistently in the regular and post seasons.

Attendence and fan support were at all-time lows last season.

Yes, I guess it could be cruel world worse FQ. It could be done on an annonymous Internet message board. Just kidding. All the best Logic.

I used to like on the Tony K show, when someone said "Howya doin?" they immediately got the BANNED FROM THE TONY KORNHEISER SHOW audiofile played and promptly hung up on.

you sound so ignorant to the point where no one should even take you seriously. theres such thing called being transgender, which basically means you were born into the wrong body so as you growup, you feel like you dont fit in your body and should be the opposite sex. i'm sure as a religious zealot like yourself, you wouldnt realize that 14,000 gay/bi/lesbians were kicked out of the military under don't ask dont tell serving our country proudly. maybe i can give you a lesson as a very masculine bi guy who is the complete opposite of the stereotype that is expected of us. i'm just a normal dude, play sports, listen 2 rap/hip hop. if u only realized how hard it is for someone like me who does not meet the stereotype at all and can just be labeled. i'm not out yet but i plan on being at gw and just so you know, yes life would be a lot easier if i was straight but ive come to terms w/ who i am and have accepted myself. and guess wat, as a bi guy, i can tell u straight up that i was born this way so take ur ignorant ass to hell

Herve- I'm sick to my stomach reading that post from Schugeorge. It directly offends me and is, simply put, the most classless post I've ever read.

Herve, I second deleting that hate-filled post. It has nothing to do with GW hoops and is not in accordance with the tone of this board (no matter how much we snipe at each other). That poster would be advised that calling Larry Lembo an evil pant load is fine by all of us here, but there are plenty of other websites where your kind of "discourse" can be aired.

I caught that Schugeorge post before it was deleted. It was a perfect exemplar of how ignorance breeds hate. He seems to think that of the 8 billion people on the planet, the only ones who deserve air and water are his mirror images, He needs education, badly.
